CNRA Research
Team project. Research field trip at the Coconut Research Station Marc Delorme in to Cote d'Ivoire in collaboration with Imperial College London.
I had the incredible opportunity to participate in a research field trip in Cote d'Ivoire at the Coconut Research Station Marc Delorme, in collaboration with Imperial College London and the Centre National de Recherche Agronomique (CNRA). For two weeks, I worked on a research project in partnership with the tech start-up Permia Sensing that leverages precision agriculture technologies to detect pest infestations in coconut and oil palm plantations using acoustic sensors and multi-spectral drones.
The experience was truly one of a kind, allowing me to work with experts in the field and gain hands-on experience in a tropical agricultural setting. The next step is to use the data we collected to create a model to predict coconut production and help farmers make informed decisions about their crops, with the aim of contributing to the development of more precise and sustainable agriculture practices. I am extremely excited to see what the future of this project holds.
