App UX/UI Design

Individual project. Working as a Freelance UX/UI Designer for a tech startup. 2-day weekend project sprint after a research field trip to Côte d'Ivoire.

Permia Sensing is a tech start-up that offers a field-testing service to detect pests growing in coconut palm trees. As a freelance UX/UI designer, I was hired to redesign their mobile app interface, which will be used by farmers worldwide. To understand the users and their needs, I spent 2 weeks working at the Coconut Research Station Marc Delorme (CNRA) in Cote d'Ivoire. During this field trip I conducted extensive user research and interviews to understand the pain points of the farmers using the Beta version of the app.

With the insights gathered in Africa, I developed a user-friendly interface that streamlines the detection process and provides farmers with actionable insights to protect their crops. Throughout the project, I collaborated closely with the development team to ensure the design was implemented as intended. The resulting app received positive feedback and helps further Permia's mission to transform farming through innovative acoustic sensing and monitoring technologies. The project showed here was done in 2 days.
